In this project, a novel interrogator will be developped which allows temperature and pressure measurements with fiber Bragg grating sensors at much smaller size than currently available interrogators thanks to the use of a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) in combination with smart evaluation electronics.
Simple – Small and Smart
Information and status statements from systems, machines and devices are the supporting elements for efficient, safe and controlled operation. With the Photonics Sensor Processing Unit (PSPU) as the evaluation unit and the Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors as the measured value recorder, the necessary data are reliably determined and made available.
